Imaginarium 2018

October 8, 2018

Back from another Imaginarium Writer's Conference in Louisville, KY.

With my two partners in crime, Angelyn and Juanita, we made our annual stop at Long Hollow Winery in Goodlettsville, TN on our way to Kentucky from Memphis. Great wines and we brought a few bottles back. (Some didn't make it home, hehe)

I particularly love their Strawberry wine. It is made with fermented strawberries, no grapes added, which really makes the Strawberry taste vivid. Love it!

We arrived on time this year...last year we didn't calculate the time change into our travel plans and missed our first panel. Not this year!

The panels and workshops were diverse and interesting, and we all took something away from each one we attended as well as the programming we were panelists on or moderating. Thanks to Stephen and Holly and all the Imaginarium staff for another great conference. If you are a writer, whether published or trying to get published, you might want to consider attending next year. They had pitch sessions with publishers, tons of panels on the craft of writing, or how to write in a particular genre, and much, much more. Find more information here:

On Saturday, we made our annual stop at the 502 Winery in Louisville. Our server actually remembered us from last year and gave generous pours. Between the three of us, I think we purchased a case of wine in various varieties. If you get to Louisville, check them out. And if you don't like wine, they also have a brewery on-site.

Later that night at the Imaginarium banquet, Malice in Memphis: Elmwood: Stories to Die For was nominated for best anthology. The competition was tough, but Malice pulled off the WIN!

Congrats to all the Malice authors who participated in this third edition anthology! In Elmwood, you will find my shorts Grave Robbers and Rainbow Lake. And you are in luck. The paperback version is on sale now at Amazon! I've included the link here:

Our fourth is in production based on Memphis festivals, and we are hard at work on our fifth with a theme of the Mississippi River.

If you live in the Memphis area, are a writer or aspiring writer, I invite you to join Malice the second Saturday of each month (except November when we hold our annual retreat, and December when we have our annual Malice Christmas party) from 10 am to noon, Bartlett library located at 5884 Stage Road, Bartlett, TN. Don't let the word Mystery fool you. We have all genre's of writers in our club.

Hope to see you there!
