Malice's third anthology is now available! Elmwood: Stories to Die For has been released as of October 3rd. As I've mentioned before, these stories are either set at or involve in some shape or form, our oldest local cemetery, Elmwood. I have two stories included, Grave Robbers, which is set at the cemetery. The second, Rainbow Lake, is set elsewhere but mentions Elmwood.
So much history lies within their grounds, they even hold tours explaining the history of war, the death toll of yellow fever and heartbreak of those gone too soon. Order your copy of Elmwood: Stories to Die For today. It's now available on Amazon and will appear on other outlets over the course of the next few days, if not already.
One of our local bookstores, BookStop Plus, (who is an avid supporter of Malice) will have them in inventory as of tomorrow October 6. Stop by and pick up a copy or wait and come by on October 28 when Malice will be on hand for a signing/reading.
I will be in Louisville, KY this weekend for the Imaginarium Writer's Conference with friends and fellow Malice members Juanita Houston and Angelyn Sherrod. I'm making this week's post early since we're heading out in the early AM, and making a few winery visits along our route through Tennessee to break up the long drive.
Yes, we plan to have a fun weekend. While en route, we plan to plot our publishers demise - all in good fun, see. He's our willing victim for the Malice in Memphis Writer's Retreat interactive mystery we have planned November 3 - 5. Yes, we'll plot his demise, and brainstorm ideas we want to develop. We will be entertained for the trip, needless to say. Probably even scare a few of the wait staff who are unfortunate enough to get stuck serving us. We like to plot murder over food. Doesn't everyone?
My schedule for Imaginarium is as follows:
Friday at 4 pm, I'll be a panelist on Composing in Shorter Formats: Novellas and Short Stories
Friday at 5:30 pm, I'll present my program on The Villainous Antagonist
Saturday at 12 Noon, I'll be a panelist on Assembling Awesome Anthologies
Sunday at 10 am, panelist on Mystery Mastery: What's Expected, and How to Put Your Own Voice On Your Story
Sunday at 11 am, panelist on Finding the Right Critique Groups
In between panels I am on, I'll be soaking up as much information from the other awesome writers, artists, gamers and filmmakers as possible to bring back to Malice in Memphis writers.
Don't forget, our Elmwood anthology Stories to Die For is now available!. If I don't see you at Imaginarium, hope to see you at BookStop later this month!
